Chelsea target Coentrao to replace Ashley Cole

The Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is desperate for a top-class left-back at the Bernabeau, and along with the Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, has been admiring the Benfica star Fabio Coentrao.

The Portugese international has a £27m buy-out clause in his contract, which Roman Abramovich is willing to pay in his quest to reduce the average age of the Chelsea squad, but he will then face the prospect of having an unhappy Ashley Cole having to play second-fiddle to the 23 year-old.

Cole himself has been talking about rejoining Mourinho at Madrid if his ex-wife Cheryl agrees to move there with him, which makes it sound as if he has been talking to Mourinho about the possibility in private.

If Chelsea allow him to rejoin his old boss, then Villas-Boas will have a free run at Coentrao and will be able to use the cash from the sale of Cole to part-fund the arrival of his replacement.

best of luck Ashley Cole, it was nice to have you in our team. You did a fanatbolous job, i cant imagine someone can do a better job than you. Hope Coentrao becomes the next A. cole….for Cheryl even i would sacrifice my happiness, even my life just to keep her happy.

Its not about rushing its abOut technicality and execution the one to deliver and though my honest suggestion is that even if Cole wants to go he must be adequately replaced so that we don’t have the same problem we had during Carlo time and another is discipline and respect to the club so I think its time we let Ashley go
